There is something profound about the continuous, unbroken nature of a circle. The circle symbolises unity, flow and ongoing movement. In a circular economy, products and materials are kept in circulation through reuse, refurbishment and recycling. In other words, everything comes back around. That’s profoundly important. And that’s the case with FUJIFILM QuickSnap™ and QuickSnap™ Waterproof one-time use cameras.
In fact, we reuse or recycle up to 60% of all components, by camera weight, collected from our one-time use cameras. The plastic housings from the cameras are re-pelletised and remoulded into new housings, and other key components of the camera are reused as well.
Like a circle, this cycle can continue indefinitely!

How the QuickSnap Reuse & Recycle Programme Works
Our recycling programme makes it easy to do the right thing: every QuickSnap camera we receive for film development will be sent for recycling. Returned units are carefully dismantled, materials are separated, and key components are assessed for reuse or recovery. This helps give parts new life and supports Fujifilm’s ongoing commitment to responsible product stewardship and reducing environmental impact.
Here’s how your FUJIFILM QuickSnap one-time use camera goes back into the circular economy.It all begins when used FUJIFILM QuickSnap camera shells are fed on conveyor to our automated camera disassembly machine.
Battery
The battery is removed and stored in a dedicated container, which will then be reused onsite throughout our office and warehouse facilities.
Lens
Any lens that is not reused in a mechanical unit is sent out so the material can be recycled for other purposes.
Front Body, Main Body & Rear Body
Everything comes back around again! The front body, main body and rear body inside each FUJIFILM QuickSnap one-time use camera are automatically removed from the camera and placed on a conveyor going to the crusher. The crushed plastic material is heated and extruded to make new plastic pellets for crafting new parts for future FUJIFILM QuickSnap one-time use cameras.
